Man-made hunger and want!
I've been writing about it for years and it gets worse every day! Starvation and want in the midst of plenty!
We see this, another example, from the Associated Press;
"SOLAN, India -- Sunil Sharma, a young tomato farmer in northern India, must navigate decripit roads, corrupt policemen and blazing heat to deliver his produce in an unrefrigerated truck to New Delhi's wholesale vegetable market.
India is plagued by malnutrition and soaring inflation, but it's not for lack of food. It is the world's second largest grower of fresh produce, but loses an estimated 40 percent of its fruit and vegetables to rot because of the kind of problems Sharma faces every week.
During one recent journey trucking tomatoes for himself and two other farmers to the capital, he was stuck for three days.
"Of the 350 crates of tomatoes I started out with, I could salvage only around 150 crates. The rest had turned to pulp," a despondent Sharma said.
Post-harvest food losses of the scale found in India are a problem throughout the developing world and translate into lower incomes for farmers and higher prices for consumers. Inflation is already undermining living standards across Asia with world food prices at record highs since December last year, according to the U.N. food agency.
In India, home to more than a third of the world's 150 million malnourished children younger than 5, food inflation reached nearly 10 percent in July.
"It's criminal neglect on the part of the government to allow this volume of wastage," says Biraj
Patnaik, an adviser to India's Supreme Court on food policy. "Just cutting back on the waste would make such a dent in bringing down food inflation, making food more affordable, and hence, available to poor families."
At a busy New Delhi market, shop-owner Raj Kumar polishes his vegetables with a drop of oil on his duster. Shiny purple eggplants, bright green beans and golden lemons beckon middle-class shoppers.
But around the corner from Kumar's brightly lit shop lay the food that had arrived there wilted and rotten: a heap of beans turning gray, mushy eggplants and blight-blackened potatoes.
"I throw out vegetables every day. What can I do with them? Nobody wants these," he said.
Savitri Debi, a housewife with two teenage children, says she is shocked and angry at the mass of vegetables thrown away by shopkeepers.
"Vegetable prices keep going up and up. But look at the amount that is wasted," says Debi as she shopped for groceries. "It just makes me so angry that every day this place has mounds of rotten vegetables, when we can barely afford to buy potatoes."
The government, as well, has expressed horror and frustration at the rot. It has begun work on a strategy to cut post-harvest losses by building modern grain silos, cold storage warehouses and setting up farmers' markets in remote areas to link vegetable growers with retail outlets in the cities, Food Minister K.V. Thomas told The Associated Press.
Plans are also afoot to assign special -- though not refrigerated -- railway wagons to transport vegetables on a priority basis to modern warehouses, he said.
But for Ranvir Thakur, a farmer in the agriculturally rich Solan district of Himachal Pradesh 200 miles (320 kilometers) north of Delhi, the government's efforts seem all too far away.
"Growing vegetables in India is a risky business," Thakur said as he tried to find a buyer for a truckload of his almost table-ready tomatoes and capsicums at the bustling vegetable market in Solan.
"We face the risk of vegetables rotting at every stage -- whether in the field, on the road, or in the markets," says Thakur, his weather-beaten face grimacing as he recalls recent losses.
The fetid odor of decaying vegetables hits the visitor to the 'mandi' or wholesale market in Solan nearly a hundred meters (yards) away from its massive gates. The mandi, the first point of sale for local farmers, was crowded with farmers, traders, commission agents and truckers surrounded by thickets of plastic crates stacked atop each other in shaky towers.
Hundreds of vegetable and fruit trucks reach the wholesale market each morning. Commission agents trawl the narrow alleys between the crates, looking out for the best bargains. Deals are struck, crates of vegetables-- color-coded to indicate the owner-- are auctioned in a high-decibel exchange and swiftly heaved onto trucks by a swarm of sweating musclemen.
Trader Balwant Singh says the paucity of refrigerated trucks means that delays at state border crossings, traffic jams, or the frequent landslides that clog hill roads can wilt and rot vegetables.
"There are only one or two trucks, belonging to private firms, that are refrigerated. The rest are open trucks, with tarps or plastic sheets for cover in case it rains," Singh said. "By the time we put up the tarps, the vegetables are soaked, and these begin to decay when we hit the heat and humidity in the plains."
Some believe allowing supermarket giants such as Walmart, Tesco and Carrefour to operate in India's multibillion-dollar retail market could succeed where the government has failed. They are keen to move in, sign contracts directly with farmers, use refrigerated transport and storage to reduce waste and bypass the middlemen.
Their entry so far has been blocked by government restrictions out of fear they will wipe out millions of small grocery stores in India. A government panel last month recommended allowing up to 51 percent foreign direct investment in multi-brand retail on condition that at least half the investment is made in back-end infrastructure such as cold storage chains and warehouses. A decision by the Cabinet could take several months.
Sharma, the young tomato grower, says the vulnerability of the farmers is exploited by road transport inspectors who demand bribes for trucks to enter neighboring states.
"The worst is when we enter Delhi. Police and transport officials hold up the trucks for hours at the toll gates till we pay up."
Sharma said he pays a bribe of 1,500 rupees ($33) for his truck every time he crosses into New Delhi on his way to Azadpur Mandi, one of Asia's biggest wholesale markets.
Spread over 90 acres in northern Delhi, Azadpur Mandi is a nerve center of India's fruit and vegetable trade. Trucks, cars, horse-carts and bicycle-driven carts are parked haphazardly in an ankle-deep mix of mud and putrefying vegetables.
Heaps of produce that is overripe and unlikely to withstand further transportation are tossed aside, crushed underfoot, or dumped in the mandi's overflowing garbage site.
When Sharma's truck arrives, a gang of loaders surrounds it. After a quick agreement, a trio of workers begins disgorging its contents. It's soon evident that delays have cost Sharma heavily.
"We'll barely recover the cost of hiring the truck. Such a large amount has spoiled," said Prem Singh, Sharma's trader at Azadpur Mandi.

Now consider please that much of India's grain crops are literally eaten every year by rats because in many areas the rodent is worshipped! HUMAN children go hungry because a rat is more important!
Can Americans throw stones at India? I think not since we would rather have healthy wildlife than healthy children! Since American businesses discard tens of thousands of pounds of non-perishable grocery items per week! From the shelf to the landfill!
Farmers in the United States are regularly regulated out of business by USDA and EPA bureaucrats in an effort TO FORCE THEM TO GROW LESS FOOD!
This is done for a host of reasons not the least of which are food safety and saving the earth! Some idiot doesn't was the lettuce or the carrots before making salad and it's the farmer's fault! Another idiot builds a home next to a truck farm and whines to the government about the dust!
Likewise we have more oil and coal than any other country in the western hemisphere but are unable to retrieve it due to government restrictions for reasons as insane as "oil platforms and windmills ruin the sunsets" and "solar farms disturb the pristine sand!"
In the midst of plenty we pay insane prices for gasoline! In the midst of plenty food prices and waste in this country grow every day!
The developer and land speculator wants more water so he can line his pockets so he buys enough political clout so water can be looted from rural agricultural and ranching communities and pipe it straight to his latest money maker! In the mean time more farms and livestock operations move to other countries making the United States more dependent on imported food!
Uh, excuse me! Have we learned nothing from importing our oil?
Hunger and want in the midst of plenty!

And still we sleep!
Just one gallon of ice cold milk! That's how far the average American is away from not having enough food in the house! We take so much for granted!
I saw this week that a small can of evaporated milk is up to a dollar!
Just five years ago who would have imagined that!
How much food do you have in the house?
Did you know that more than 80% of the world's people don't have enough clean water to drink?
There is coming a time when famine will touch American shores!
Man-made, man-caused famine! Not because of some crop pestilence but because we, the American people, were convinced by our government that we should grow less food! We are buying more food from other countries now than we grow here!
THAT, folks, is an invitation to disaster!

Maxine Waters?
Hmmmm!
According to this piece in LA Now
"Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Los Angeles) came out swinging against Republicans in Congress on Saturday as she addressed the unemployed during a forum in Inglewood.
The event occurred a day after new statistics were released showing that California's jobless rate last month went up to 12%, from 11.8%. California now has the second-highest rate of unemployment in the nation, trailing only Nevada at 12.9%, and its jobless rate is well above the U.S. average of 9.1%.
Waters vowed to push Congress to focus on creating more jobs. "I'm not afraid of anybody," said Waters. "This is a tough game. You can't be intimidated. You can't be frightened. And as far as I'm concerned, the 'tea party' can go straight to hell."
More than 1,000 people attended "Kitchen Table Summit," which was designed to give the jobless an opportunity to vent to elected officials and share their struggles about finding a job.
KABC-TV quoted speakers talking about living without medical insurance and surviving paycheck to paycheck.
"Thank God I am healthy because a medical illness would bankrupt me," said Regina Davis of Inglewood.
Congresswomen Laura Richardson and Karen Bass also attended. Several people urged the representatives to push for a national jobs program.
According to the Employment Development Department, California employers added just 4,500 new jobs last month, a steep drop from the revised 30,400 jobs added in June."
The modern-day Tea Party movement started on an idea of bringing back responsible government and opposing taxation without representation has been maligned and cursed by those who love the status quo.
Despite a maximum effort to stay far away from any type of racial prejudice and the fact that a number of conservative black leaders belong to the movement liberals such as Waters and Charlie Rangel still portray it as a bunch of white bigots.
Hmmm! Tell that to Kenneth Gladney here who is being kissed by a white man!
Recall please that Gladney was beaten by union thugs for selling flags from his wheelchair at a Tea Party type event!
Hmmm! This type of give the people more government jobs while killing small business with taxes and regulation is what has killed California's economic situation and continues to do so!
Entire dairy operations have picked up and moved out of that state into Texas.
And this silly, ignorant dingbat gets elected again and again!

Care Packages
Boxes or bags, I'm always in the process of packing a care package. Send them through the mail to loved ones, to people who don't like me, to people who've trashed me but especially to people I know need them!
While I'm a fiscal conservative I remain a classic liberal in a lot of ways.
I see a homeless person panhandling I've got a small pack in the truck for them.
A few non-perishable food items, some personal hygene and basic camp stuff. A stamped envelope with a piece of blank paper and a couple of dollars.
Whether he/she's a drunk or needs money for cigarettes is none of my business. My obligation stops at the offering!
Why? It's the right thing to do!
I don't give to political organizations. I like giving to people where I see a need!
Bragging? Boasting?
No, just encouraging others to do the same!
Wouldn't it be nice if we relied on one another instead of big daddy government?
The founding fathers never intended for government to do what we should do for each other.
Statistically speaking, I find it more than amusing that conservatives oppose most government programs for the poor but give of themselves quite liberally.
Liberals tend to be very conservative with their own dollars but support giving away other people's money!
Ah but then I'm amused at a lot of things these days!

Get a load of this!
Maxine Waters is "releasing" black people to criticize Obama! It seems that African Americans are worse off under Obama than they were under Bush! This is according to the government's own statistics! Chuckle and a half!
It also seems, according to news reports around the country, that people are abandoning their boats, letting camper trailers go back to the banks, dumping their dogs and cats and giving away their horses!
As the economy continues to tank and more people go hungry I see that nutcase environmentalists are now urging tighter numbers on dust particles!
Dust!

Worldwide Holodomor
I sit here at 4:25 and haven't dressed to go outside yet. I've been washing clothes, sweeping and mopping floors all day. I prepared my mother's meals and disinfected the shower with vinegar.
Meatballs, brown gravy with onion bits and garlic, and buttered fresh vegetables for supper is pretty good eatin'!
So how could there be famine in a world of plenty? Worse yet how could there be a world-wide famine?
Ask yourself this very important question: what has been the majority cause for famine related death in the last two hundred years?
Drought? Crop pestilence? Well, while these were contributors indeed the vast majority of deaths from hunger have been caused by the worst of the worst: man!
Greed has caused the uneven development of urban areas where water and food resources are scarce. Land speculators continue to promote the sale of home properties where they know there isn't enough water!
Solution: use government to "appropriate" water from rural areas(mostly farming and ranching areas) and pipe it off to the golf courses and swimming pools of those people with the political stoke to demand it!
While telling developers to build, government tells rural areas of the world bear the brunt of the sacrifice for that development.
When the governor of a state like Texas feels funding the looting of rural water resources more important than school books for our children one can only wonder at his ambition to be president!
While the people of the Ukraine had bumper crops of grain they were literally starved to death when famine was used as a tool of the politically powerful! Millions died! Literally starvation in a land of plenty!
The insane cruelty and monstrosity of man!
In the 50s millions of Chinese people died in yet another man-made famine when the People's Liberation Army went into rural agricultural China and confiscated food supplies from those who labored to produce it!
In the United States we have a U.S. Department of Agriculture that is doing it's best to force farmers to produce less and food producers to mass produce(sic)! Just like we have a Department of Energy doing it's best to force, through regulation, oil companies to produce less oil.
In a land of plenty there are more and more people going hungry!
Drought in Somalia is a horrible thing! And it's also a cruel joke on the people of Africa! There is more than enough technology to alleviate drought conditions through drilling of wells, better agricultural practices and industrial innovation so that no one need die! However, war, political power, greed and simple stupidity rule the day! Somali pirates even take the ships bringing famine relief to the region!
Throw in the terrible spectre of Islam and death follows quickly!
I can only wonder at any goofball president who'd consider bringing these people into a...I was going to say "more civilized nation" but we have butchered more than 50 million of our own children in abortion mills so who are we to talk?
50 million children who would be working, paying taxes and supporting the Social Security ponzi scheme! So who will pay into that system in another ten or twenty years? Who will feed the "unproductive" described so by Hillary Clinton? Who will feed "useless eaters" described so by overall communist/socialist society?
When a black president like Barak Obama supports the genocide against black, Hispanic and Native American children one can only wonder why so many people of color support him! And then wants to import more Somali to re-inforce the wild-eyed Somali gangs growing in many urban areas! Kill the innocent/import the insane?
Yes! worldwide holodomor is coming! It was foretold in the bible and it shall be so!

Get ready folks!
I packed a box of yarn balls and food and added a $10 spot for a widow in Corpus Christi whom I've never met. Her husband died a few years ago and left her with no life insurance. She is often hungry so she gets a box every month. No matter what my finances are doing she gets that box! Bragging? Boasting? No, simply giving an example of what we MUST do! We must care for one another!
An elderly Jew in Russia gets a food box every month too. Why? Simply because the Lord will gather all nations to the Valley of Jezreel and judge them for how they treated his children Ys'rael! "All" means all! The United States too! This means every individual Christian must support Ys'rael! Do it or be judged!
I sit here with my head hurting from a very bad tooth! Needs pulling! Wish I had the money for that! Anyone know an honest dentist? Yeah, an oxymoron to be sure!
I mowed today until the foot neuropathy drove me to sit down! So I sat there and took some small electric motors apart so I could separate the metals and put together some scrap to sell.
Drove to town and pulled weeds out of a rock garden to make a little cash. Began losing my balance so I'll try and finish it tomorrow.
Came home and pulled more weeds from around my fig trees and then had to sit down. Did that and began putting little plastic rings in vending machine capsules until my fingers got numb too.
Sat still until I could feel them again and serviced a Northwestern 60 gumball machine so I can put it on a small vending route.
Collected my rent today and made a deposit. Still not enough but I thank God for it!
Christians must learn to be resourceful again! Government is not God! The Lord God Jehovah is an almighty and jealous God!

Promoting the "Obama got Osama" movie!
President! One who presides over! Hmmmm! The present president is now presiding over 14,000,000 unemployed people! 2,000,000 more than when he became president! He is presiding over a $14,000,000,000,000+ national debt!
He has presided over a government takeover of two automobile companies, a bailout of autoworker unions by robbing from teacher unions!
And now in spite of both family wishes and pentagon regulations, a White House photographer has taken photos of the president saluting at Dover AFB as members of Seal Team Six were brought home!
It'll be a good shot to help promote the "Obama got Osama" movie!

Resourcefulness!
Times have been hard for a lot of people! Get ready folks, they're gonna get harder!
I've been hauling scrap metal since I was 10 years old. Over the past few years, from the filing cabinets and old metal desks I've been removing all of the locks that had keys still in them.
Last week, the sister of one of my ex's gave me two vending machines. Today I finished installing new locks in both because I had taken the time to save those locks and keys!
Hey folks! Beter learn how to survive!

The Boston Tea Party
How does one turn something good into something bad? Something inherently bad into something perceived as something good?
This is most often accomplished by those trying to deceive by perverting or re-defining any given issue.
The Boston Tea Party was a good thing for the United States because the act in itself told the British soverign that the people of the colonies would not be taxed without representation. It gave hope to those same people that there were indeed people from amongst themselves that would stand up against foreign intrusion into their affairs.
In the 80s, after a succession of record breaking tax increases I gathered up a small petition of people opposed to those taxes and attached it to tea bags and sent it to our state senator. While he promptly ignored it, we at least spoke up.
Today a good thing has been turned by the left in this country to mean something as ugly as terrorism. "Tea Party" has been re-defined as something terrible and nasty.
For a broad group of people to stand up to government and demand that it live within it's means and survive on a balanced budget has been re-defined as something bad. Something a "terrorist" would do.
Now, so I am not mistaken here, to stand up to government and demand it live within it's means is to be a terrorist!
So a broad group of people from all ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds have just gone from good to bad. They have been re-defined!
Adolph Hitler and his propaganda minister redefine Jews as being less than human. Islamofascists do the same thing today. The U.S. government considered native Americans less than human and committed genocide without a second thought.
When you re-define human life as something less than human it is much easier to excuse the taking of that life.
Is it not easier to kill the baby in a womb if it's re-defined as a "blob of tissue?"

So what do we do?
Socialists thrive on taking from those who produce and are prosperous and giving to those THEY feel deserve what those who produce and are prosperous have earned for themselves!
Socialism is a political system that thrives on greed and covetousness. "Taking from the haves and giving to the have nots!" And doing this under threat of law with a system of oppressive, regressive and confiscatory government regulation, fees and taxation.
This country has built it's house on the sands of socialism. Penalizing those who work in favor of those who'd rather not!
As a result, criminal/political hacks like Al Sharpton hold a specter of prejudice over all who disagree. They hold the scepter of government power over all who dare bring common sense and truth to any discussion of the facts.
This is the quagmire into which the discussion of immigration reform has fallen and thanks to reprobates like Sharpton and the intellectually superior(in their own opinion) and the politically correct, like Victoria Advocate editor Chris Cobler, roll around and baste themselves in every day!
The idea that people from another country could, or WOULD even dare come to this country and protest on streets paid for by our taxes is an obvious insult to those of us who pay those taxes! The idea that they would come here and block traffic on our streets or walk around on and desecrate our state and national flags with impunity is defenseless and absurd!
Make no mistake, comprehensive immigration reform has more to do with yet another round of amnesty than actual immigration reform. I still hear the echoes, printed on the editorial pages of the Advocate, of the anti-immigration reform activists of the 80s touting amnesty as a solution to the problem.
The difference between then and now is that the politically correct in media today are able to silence more of those out there demanding the truth be told. This is why I was banned from the blog pages of the Victoria Advocate.
Because I wrote a very even-handed blog discussing the immigration issue I was profiled as a prejudiced Anglo and my blog pulled. That blog can be seen on this blogsite by scrolling down to the first entry.
Anyone, including the obnoxious and arrogant Mr. Cobler, who says I attacked anyone is a liar and a coward!
This country today is in a serious dilemma. In a broad, but I feel justified generalization, we have raised two generations of young people who not only don't want to work but have never been taught how!
Two generations of young people who feel working, doing actual labor to build something with their hands and by the sweat of their brow is a bad thing. As someone who was in a position to see that contractors at a local plant were properly manned-up to do the work they were hired to do, I found that immigrant workers were, in many cases, more qualified and had a higher work ethic than young American workers. This is very telling when looking at many Americans looking for work today!
Sadly, we have also killed off two generations of children, over 50 million now, in the butcher shops of American abortuaries.
So increasingly, whose going to fit the pipe, paint the vessels, pull the wire and tie the rebar necessary to build America? Worse yet, as those entering liberal arts colleges increase, those entering engineering schools decrease!
Is any of this an excuse for throwing open the doors and allowing just anyone in this country? No, but then again just who is going to pay into a bankrupt Social Security system to fund those baby boomers who are reaching retirement age at the rate of literally thousands every day?
So what do we do? At the Advocate, we profile anyone who speaks out on this subject as prejudiced no matter how baseless and false the claim. We use our power to silence all opposition. We use the ignorance of child wannabe/journalists to silence any who demand an even-handed discussion of the issue!
What would Sergaent Juan Abamillo say? Juan Abamillo? Sergaent Juan Abamillo was one of eighteen volunteers of Hispanic descent who died DEFENDING the walls of the Alamo! A hero of Texas!
Now how is it that I know the name of this sergeant and not one of the journalism wannabes who pulled my blog at the Advocate does now or did when they pulled it?

36 million pounds of turkey recalled! And despite the fact that it is still safe if cooked properly, it will be destroyed!
As the state and federal governments continue their unholy quest to shut down small meat markets and meat processing plants, the huge corporate packing houses fail the public again, proving me right once again! Further centralization of the food processed in this country is leading to food shortages, waste on a grand scale and hunger!

The photo is of a looter in Los Angeles after the Rodney King verdict! This was less about justice and more about an excuse to "...steal, kill and destroy!"
This week a mugger robbed a blind woman and another one stole a purse from a woman in a wheel chair!
In Pakistan the two year old daughter of a Muslim to Christian convert was taken into a field and raped! Ah, Islam! The "religion of peace!"
In America, we have raised two generations of people raised woithout a biblical world view. However, as hunger arises in the midst of plenty, anarchy and socialism will increase!
Pray hard!
